What You Might Not Be Aware About rpm air compressor
One of the points that has improved over time with air compressors which are rechargeable is that they've additional power than they employed to. It hasn't been that quite a few years ago that there was a distinct distinction between compressors that were tethered to a power source and the rechargeable models.
That's no longer the case. Today's models of portable air compressors can hold their own with their wired counterparts. This means you could get by just fine with 1 kind of air compressor, as an alternative to having to invest cash in two distinctive types.
Does anyone know the formula for determining the pulley size for setting up an air compressor?
If my compressor has a 10" pulley and runs at 1050 RPM, my motor runs at 3450 RPM, what is the formula for determining the size pulley needed for the motor? Thanks
*Take :
N1 =RPM of a motor.
N2 =RPM of a compressor.
D1 =PCD of a motor pulley
D2 =PCD of a compressor pulley.
Formula is :
N1 * D1 = N2 * D2
[Always take the pitch circle diameter in stead of outside diameter.
Also, you have to consider the percentage of belt slippage on the
pulley]
Now , N1 * D1 = N2 * D2
=> 3450 * D1 = 1050 * 10
=> D1 = [1050 * 10] / 3450
=> D1 = 10500 / 3450
=> D1 = 3.0434782608695652173913043478261 inch
=> D1 = 3.04 inch that is the diameter of a motor pulley.
Above calculation is based on the assumption that 10 inch diameter
is the PCD of a compressor pulley.
